Maharashtra Launches ₹1,500 Monthly Scheme for Women

The Maharashtra government will launch the ‘Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana’ on August 17, providing ₹1,500 monthly to over one crore women in the state.
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde assured that the scheme will be permanent and aligns with the Raksha Bandhan festival, emphasising its role in women’s welfare.
The scheme includes the Nari Shakti Dhoot app for online applications. For those without internet access, anganwadi workers and gram sevaks will assist.
Eligibility
Permanent resident of Maharashtra
Aged 21-65
Family income below ₹2.5 lakh per annum
Applicants should link their Aadhar cards to bank accounts to ensure smooth processing.
The scheme, starting in July but officially launching on August 17, has already provided ₹3,000 to over 3 million women during a trial. It is projected to cost ₹46,000 crore annually.
